Ciara Worsford - Newry Maiden

Ciara has recently graduated from Queens University Belfast with a Degree in Business Management. Ciara hopes to return to Queen’s this September to undertake a Masters in Corporate Governance. Ciara is currently working as a supervisor in Greenbank Service Station and also volunteers for P.I.P.S. Newry. Ciara takes a keen interest in arts and crafts and in her spare time likes to make jewellery and clothes.  

Colleen Murdock - San Diego Maiden

Colleen has recently graduated from California State University San Marcos with a degree in Human Development. Colleen currently works as the manager at College Nannies and Tutors, which is a national franchise. Colleen has a passion for Irish Dancing and in January of next year she will be taking the three day TCRG test to become an Irish Dance teacher.

Kamila Kostka - Polish Maiden

Kamila enjoys listening to pop and classical music. Her ambition is to work in the music industry, performing on stage. Kamila’s hobbies include singing, swimming, kick boxing and fashion modeling.

Kim Johnston - Antrim Maiden

Kim currently works as a care assistant at Northern Health and Social Care Trust, providing care and support to elderly people with dementia in residential settings. She has also completed a degree in Sociology from Queen‘s University Belfast. Her ambition is to become a nurse.

Lorraine Matthews - Rostrevor Maiden

Lorraine has a passion for music, an accomplished Violinist, Harpist and Guitar Player,  she has featured on the bill at the Fiddlers Green Festival Rostrevor. Lorraine also enjoys poetry in particular the work of Yeats, Wilde, Thomas Moore, Heaney and the passages of John O’Donohue.

Louise Mc Guinness - Louth Maiden

Louise has completed a degree in Education Studies and Early years. She currently volunteers in Carrick Primary School Burren as a classroom assistant. Her hobbies include running, tennis, exploring the great outdoors and swimming. Her ambition is to become a Primary school teacher.

Mareze Hollywood - Burren Maiden

Mareze left St. Marks High School Warrenpoint with 5 GCSE’s and went on to do further education at the Southern Regional College where she studied Health and Social care for two years and achieved 2 A’s and a B in her A levels and got her BTEC National Diploma. Mareze hopes to further her education and study criminology and sociology with children. She has also competed in All Ireland Irish Dancing competitions and In 1999 she was the little Miss Maiden and now she returns to represent Burren in this years festival.

Niamh Maloy - Warrenpoint Maiden

Niamh is interested in cross community and cross-culture relations and every year participates in a cross-community program in Belfast to promote mutual understanding between Catholics and Protestants. Last year, Niamh lived in Freiburg, Germany for three months through the Erasmus program. Her hobbies include, traveling, Niamh also has a great passion for literature from Shakespeare to Salinger. Niamh also has a great enthusiasm for children’s literature and would like to write and have several children’s books published.

Orla Walsh - Clare Maiden (Winner 2011/12)

Orla has a passion for music and plays and teaches piano. She is also an entertainer at Bunratty Castle. Last year Orla co-founded a sacred music duo “Arioso”. Another passion of Orla’s is journalism. She started her degree in 2008 and last year she attended the Danish School of Media and Journalism where she studied TV Journalism for four months.

Victoria Hamilton - Southern Pines Maiden

Victoria enjoys painting, drawing, sculpture and print making and has received an award from Sandhills Community College for an achievement in Fine Arts. Victoria also participates in voluntary work and has been to South Africa to work with schools and churches to educate teens in AIDS/HIV prevention. She has also worked with tornado victims in her hometown of Sanford, North Carolina after recent tornados in the beginning of may this year.
